Description
Gregory "Pappy" Boyington is depicted flying his F4U Corsair somewhere over the Solomon Islands, 1943. The leader of VMF-214 (the famed "Blacksheep") racked up an impressive score as a fighter pilot before he was himself shot down and became a prisoner. His fame as a maverick was cemented by the popularity of his book "Baa Baa Blacksheep" and the TV series from the 1970's of that name.
