Description
When in the late summer of 1943 the allies planned "Operation Husky", to invade Sicily on their way to Italy, they first had to establish air superiority. P-38s joined other fighters and bombers knocking out German and Italian air power. Participating was this well-used but unnamed Lockheed P-38F of the 27th FS, 1st FG from Tunisia, August, 1943. Artwork created for a Model Airplane kit box cover and Used With Permission.
