Description
At 9:32 am on July 16, 1969 the Saturn V carrying Apollo 11 lifted off from Launch Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Four days later, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong separated from the command module Columbia, leaving behind Michael Collins and headed down to land on the moon in the service module, named Eagle. Landing in the Sea of Tranquility, Neil Armstrong thrilled billions of people watching on live TV as he became the first person to step on another world. With his "One small step", the intense engineering program which created the complex Saturn V and its supporting structure (Including the LUT Tower) proved that a large set of men and women working together can accomplish the near unvelievable. Apollo 11 and the awesome Saturn V rocket are hallmarks in the advancement of human technology. Artwork created for Randall Quinn, who showed great patience in the complex process to try to get as many details correct as possible.
